Itinerary

Are you a foodie who enjoys trying new foods? This is the perfect culinary adventure! On this tour, we may begin with Hawaiian-inspired steamed bun filled with a delicious BBQ, a glass of bubble tea, or a Mexican street taco. Other unique tastings may include a savory Japanese pancake, an authentic Argentinean empanada, or a slice of NY style pizza. We may feature French macarons or a piece of Lebanese baklava. Or enjoy a visit at a modern day beer garden for a sample of German delights.

On this tour, we begin in Washington Park in the heart of Over The Rhine, a historic neighborhood created by the German immigrants in the mid-1800s. We’ll share a brief history of the German immigrants who built this neighborhood from the ground up. Learn why Music Hall is said to be one of the most haunted places in the country. Hear the story behind the name of the original Miami Erie Canal. Stroll past story-high murals depicting famous persons and events in Cincinnati.

The revitalization of Over the Rhine is amazing. The grand buildings look like they have been dipped in the fountain of youth. Unfortunately, twenty years ago, this wasn't the case. The neighborhood had suffered from urban blight, crime, and poverty. The transformation is astounding. Our tour guides are friendly, mature and professional! They know the best spots to visit and what areas to avoid. You’re in good hands. And, as the tour comes to an end, your guide will be happy to give you plenty of suggestions of things to see and do in the area.

Frequently asked questions

Our guides greatly appreciate tips. Most guests tip their tour guides between 10-20%. Your ticket includes a 20% gratuity for the staff of our restaurant partners, but NOT for your tour guide. Another way to demonstrate your appreciation for a fantastic tour guide is by leaving a 5-star review that mentions them by name, which earns them a paid bonus.
Wear casual, weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes. Bring an umbrella if needed, a water bottle for hydration in warm weather, and cash for gratuities or small purchases.
The Ethnic Eats in Over the Rhine Tour is a walking tour. While we walk over the course of 3 hours, it is less than one mile in distance. We walk a short bit, sit, dine and repeat.
We welcome families with children on all our tours! Since it depends on the child’s age and attention span, we leave it to the parents to decide whether a 3-hour walking tour is appropriate for their child. In our experience, children 10 and older, interested in history will enjoy the tour. Children five years and younger are free, but do not receive any food. Parents may share or bring snacks. Children ages six and older require a ticket.
There may be a step up to the entrance. The tour is accessible, but due to the amount of walking, we recommend a motorized wheelchair or scooter. We walk one mile, stopping and dining at restaurants along the way.
You may cancel up to 24 hours in advance for a FULL refund by calling 513-289-0035. We know plans can change, so we offer a generous cancellation policy. Purchase Trip Protection and cancel up to 1 HOUR before the scheduled tour. Call 513-289-0035 to receive a FULL refund (minus applicable fees).
