The Roebling Bridge Tour ~ Enjoy spectacular views and a progressive lunch!

Tour Overview

Explore beautiful views of the Cincinnati skyline from the other side of the Ohio River. The Riverside Licking Drive neighborhood is a little known gem full of local restaurants and spectacular views. On this lunchtime tour, we walk upon the Roebling Suspension Bridge to the first pier, stroll past million dollar historic mansions on a beautiful tree lined tree.  We dine at four locally owned restaurants and enjoy 4 savory dishes, one small craft beer and dessert.

Is This Tour Right For Me?

I enjoy walking as long as it’s not too far.  The Roebling Bridge Tour is a 1.5 mile walking tour.  We climb two flights of stairs to access the pedestrian walkway on the bridge.  We walk 3-4 blocks in the Licking Riverside historic neighborhood. We walk, eat and repeat.  The Mainstrasse Village tour has less walking.

I’m curious about the restaurants we will be visiting.  We begin in front of Molly Malone’s one of the oldest buildings in Covington KY. We enjoy fish and chips and a small draft beer inside an authentic Irish Pub. Next we visit a restaurant named after one of Covington’s baseball players and known for their smoked meats. Have you heard the fairy tale the Three Billy Goats Gruff? It’s the namesake of another popular restaurant known for hearth baked pizzas. We end at Blinker’s Tavern for the best bread pudding in town!

I’ve lived in Cincinnati my whole life, but rarely visit Northern Kentucky. Local residents and visitors will enjoy exploring a quaint neighborhood on the south shores of the Ohio River.  Covington KY has 11 historic neighborhoods with a wide variety of local restaurants, bourbon bars, breweries and distilling companies.  On the Roebling Bridge tour, hear about the best spots in town!

I like the option of ordering a cocktail, craft beer or glass of wine along the way. We include a small local beer.  But guests are welcome to purchase alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages at the other stops.  Ice water is always served to quench your thirst.

I enjoy learning about the history of the area.  Learn the history of the founding of Covington and the Roebling Bridge with the use of old photos.  Stroll through the Licking Riverside neighborhood and hear the stories of the first citizens who built the magnificent mansions we walk by.  Stroll on the oldest bridge spanning the Ohio River.
